In April 2017, BBC Worldwide approached us to write more than 100 travel features for a major content project sponsored by Visit Britain, as part of their successful BBC Britain campaign.
We were commissioned to research and write about cultural and sporting events taking place over the course of 12 months – from Wimbledon (pictured) to Up Helly Aa. This involved contacting event promoters in order to obtain details of their events in advance of their official launches, interviewing many of them to draw out interesting nuggets of information.
The features were written for an overseas audience and were carefully constructed to highlight the most-appealing aspects of various parts of Britain, at the same time as being factual and of practical use for readers. Despite being sponsored content, it was to be treated very much as an editorial proposition, adhering to BBC style guidelines throughout.
Meeting tight deadlines, our work was praised by both the BBC and Visit Britain.
We have supplied feature content to a host of well-known clients, covering a diverse range of subject including health and fitness, careers, travel, style, entertainment, parenting, food and drink, weddings, homes, pets and shopping.
Clients have included TotalJobs, Netdoctor, Prima, Cosmopolitan, Mother & Baby, Huffington Post, Yahoo!, Virgin Media, Everyday Health, iVillage, and Channel 4 Beauty.
We are often able to accommodate client requests at short notice and have added value for many of our clients by pitching content ideas, building pages with client CMS tools and even devising and executing content plans when clients’ in-house resources have been limited.
“Rachel has written for our Wellbeing and Skin Care sections and is a reliable contributor who delivers copy on time and on brief. She understands the unique challenges of writing for the web and I would be very happy to commission her again.” – Hattie Crisell, Editor, 4Beauty.
From 2011 until the end of 2015, we provided the majority of MTV.co.uk‘s daily news stories and were responsible for the entire news output on weekends and holidays.
Accuracy, reliability, flexibility, editorial tone and news sense were all valued highly by MTV – and our ability to deliver on all of these enabled us to become a trusted partner and a key part of the editorial operation there.
As the popularity of social media snowballed during our time working with MTV, our approach was evolved to bring memes, user comments and fan reactions into stories – all in a way that reflected MTV’s fun and vibrant style.
Before our relationship ended due to a re-organisation, we had transitioned to providing content for some of MTV’s leading TV shows, including Geordie Shore and Ex On The Beach.

We’ve been working with Aol since 2008. We operated Aol’s showbiz site Eleven (pre-Huffington Post) for two years, helping it become one of the UK’s top 10 entertainment news sites in terms of traffic. During that time, Aol also outsourced their Lifestyle and Women’s channels to us. We currently write and build regular features and topical stories for Aol Living, helping the channel to reach its video and impressions targets.
“Content Creatives have been running two of our highest profile channels for more than 12 months now. So far we’ve seen page views increase by more than 400% from launch – a fantastic result which has surpassed our most optimistic projections. Rachel and Stacey provide an excellent customer-based service and can be relied upon to produce compelling, engaging content on a wide variety of topics. They are innovative, knowledgeable, flexible and always offer the right solution at the right time.” – Joanna Montgomery, Director, Entertainment and Lifestyle (2009)
“Not only is the content they produce of a very high standard they are always willing to go above and beyond simply writing news stories or producing features. They regularly pitch new ideas for the site as well as taking a proactive approach to spotting stories before our competitors. They are fully clued-up on the specific needs of producing online content and the importance of SEO, social media and community and have a keen sense of what makes our audience tick – and click.
“They are also particularly open to new ideas and have always played a key role in contributing to new site initiatives such as re-launches and changes in style and tone. I have found them to be professional and communicative at all times, and they’re always happy to take on additional work – often at the last minute. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.” – Matthew Bagwell, Showbiz editor
Between 2011 and 2014, we wrote and built hundreds of features and galleries for a wide number of MSN channels, including Health, Style & Beauty, Travel, Content Solutions, and the International Content Team.
MSN’s editors returned to us time and again because they valued our ability to generate content ideas which engaged their audience – and because we delivered that content reliably and to a high standard.
“Rachel has been contributing to MSN Travel for some time now – covering everything from the best economy airlines to where to hang out during Paris Fashion Week. She is a seasoned and versatile writer, and isn’t afraid of tight deadlines (there have been a few!). ” – Jade Conroy, Travel editor
“Rachel was a pleasure to work with – full of ideas, and always delivering to the standards and timescales we desired (even when these shifted midway through the commission) to the extent I knew I’d never have to worry about delivery or quality.
“The impact was also truly impressive – her content was being distributed to 55 markets and being translated into 27 languages, making it a tough and diverse audience, yet the positive feedback was consistent from all over the world.
“In fact, a number of markets reported record performance for the health & fitness and lifestyle content we had her focused on during the three months she was working for the international team. I would have no hesitation in recommending her, and would definitely commission her services again.” – James Clive-Matthews, Managing editor, International editorial solutions
